The congress offered details of the latest research in various fields of cardiology. Among the much-awaited news items were results from studies on the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and the potential utility of facilitated percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). New data on aggressive pharmacologic blood-pressure lowering in patients with diabetes were also presented. Following is a summary of these investigations.
